About Our Doctors

Dr. Allie James

Dr. Alisha James (Dr. Allie) loves working with kids and strives to create a positive dental experience for each child she treats. She graduated summa cum laude from Grand Canyon University with a BS Degree in Human Biology. She then attended The University of Iowa College of Dentistry and received her DDS degree. After graduating, Dr. Allie provided dental care as a general dentist for 2 years in private practice and IHS (Indian Health Services) in Iowa treating adults and children at the tribal dental clinic. During this time she also worked as a research assistant in the Pediatrics Department at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.

As a native Oregonian, Dr. Allie wanted to return to her home state to put down roots and be closer to family, so she decided to return to Oregon to complete her 2 year pediatric dental residency training at Oregon Health and Science University. During this time she received extensive education in pediatric dentistry including: clinical, emergency, sedation and hospital based care, growth and development of children,  and working with special health care needs population at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital at OHSU.

Dr. Allie is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Oregon Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. She currently has hospital privileges at Northbank Surgical Center in Salem, OR. During her free time, Dr. Allie and her husband enjoy cooking, exploring Oregon, gardening, and going on walks. They welcomed their first child in the spring of 2020 and are overjoyed in their new role as parents.

Dr. Therese Pham

Originally from Vietnam, Dr. Therese Pham emigrated to Oregon with her parents and two brothers at the age of 10. She grew up in Portland and attended the University of Portland, where she graduated magna cum laude with a biochemistry degree. After college, she went on to obtain her doctorate degree in dentistry at Oregon Health & Science University. Upon graduation from dental school, she was the recipient of the Jerome Schell & Gary Wilson OMFS Award for her clinical excellence in OMFS. During college and dental school, she participated in multiple international mission trips to Mexico, Nicaragua, and the Philippines where she truly enjoyed experiencing different cultures and providing assistance to underserved communities.

After receiving her doctorate degree from OHSU, she practiced as a general dentist in Colorado for three years, a time that provided valuable experience and helped solidify her desire to pursue specialty training in pediatric dentistry. She then completed an additional two years of focused training in pediatric dentistry at the NYU Langone Hospitals program in Western Massachusetts.

Having received extensive dental work due to lack of adequate dental care in the earlier years of growing up in Vietnam, Dr. Pham has a unique understanding and sympathy towards her patients. She hopes to help as many young children and adolescents as possible avoid the same fate and firmly believes in providing the utmost compassionate and quality care to her young patients, while still maintaining positive dental experiences.

Aside from dentistry, Dr. Pham enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. She and her fiancé have a labradoodle named Timber, who is very enthusiastic for ANY outdoor adventure… even something as simple as car rides! If Dr. Pham was not a pediatric dentist, she would like to be a traveling food blogger!

Dr. Pham is thrilled to return to the Pacific Northwest and cannot wait to provide outstanding care to all the amazing patients at Bloom Pediatric Dentistry!
