About Our Doctors

Dr. Therese Pham

Originally from Vietnam, Dr. Therese Pham emigrated to Oregon with her parents and two brothers at the age of 10. She grew up in Portland and attended the University of Portland, where she graduated magna cum laude with a biochemistry degree. After college, she went on to obtain her doctorate degree in dentistry at Oregon Health & Science University. Upon graduation from dental school, she was the recipient of the Jerome Schell & Gary Wilson OMFS Award for her clinical excellence in OMFS. During college and dental school, she participated in multiple international mission trips to Mexico, Nicaragua, and the Philippines where she truly enjoyed experiencing different cultures and providing assistance to underserved communities.

After receiving her doctorate degree from OHSU, she practiced as a general dentist in Colorado for three years, a time that provided valuable experience and helped solidify her desire to pursue specialty training in pediatric dentistry. She then completed an additional two years of focused training in pediatric dentistry at the NYU Langone Hospitals program in Western Massachusetts.

Having received extensive dental work due to lack of adequate dental care in the earlier years of growing up in Vietnam, Dr. Pham has a unique understanding and sympathy towards her patients. She hopes to help as many young children and adolescents as possible avoid the same fate and firmly believes in providing the utmost compassionate and quality care to her young patients, while still maintaining positive dental experiences.

Aside from dentistry, Dr. Pham enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. She and her fiancé have a labradoodle named Timber, who is very enthusiastic for ANY outdoor adventure… even something as simple as car rides! If Dr. Pham was not a pediatric dentist, she would like to be a traveling food blogger!

Dr. Pham is thrilled to return to the Pacific Northwest and cannot wait to provide outstanding care to all the amazing patients at Bloom Pediatric Dentistry!

Dr. Katie Chou

Dr. Chou grew up in California, alongside her parents and two younger sisters. Her early exposure to volunteer dental outreach planted a lasting interest in children’s oral health and public education. She chose pediatric dentistry because she finds joy in caring for young smiles—making dental visits educational, interactive, and comfortable from start to finish.

As a pediatric dental specialist, Dr. Chou focuses on prevention, early intervention, and habit‑building for lifelong oral health. She believes each dental visit should leave children confident—with parents fully equipped to support healthy home routines.

She earned a BA in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DMD) degree from NYU College of Dentistry. She completed her pediatric residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in New York to become a true specialist in children’s oral health.

Her renowned “tell‑show‑do” approach, combined with gentle preventive care, is designed to reduce anxiety and help children build trust. She works with families to promote healthy habits at home and educate parents so they can support their child’s smile long term.

When not in the clinic, Dr. Chou enjoys exploring restaurants and traveling with her husband.
